Dermaplaning is an excellent and safe procedure for exfoliating the epidermis and ridding the skin of dead skin cells and fine vellus hair (peach fuzz). Light, feathering strokes over the surface of the facial skin mechanically removes the top layer of dead skin cells, debris, and fine hair, smoothing the skin for a silky feel. Removing this layer of dead skin allows products, such as superficial peels and even Retin-A, to penetrate more readily into the deeper layers. This allows the products to be more effective and increases the likelihood of a good result.
